About a month ago, Keith and I were asked to show some artwork as part of the Guerrilla Cuisine #5. What is Guerrilla Cuisine - in short - it's a monthly event of amazing food, good music and art. Read more about this on their website http://guerrillacuisine.com/.
Because we were showing art, the evening was complimentary, so we made the best of it. It was our first time out together since before Maya was born, and we enjoyed every minute. Grandma + grandpa Lopez were nice to come over and watch over Maya. Just to give you an idea of what the evening was like, here's the menu. Let the jaw drop and the mouth water run.
-Chilled Chesapeake Oyster: Firefly Frozen 'Vojito', American Caviar
-Puree of English Pea Soup: Radishes, Pine nuts, Pancetta
-Halibut Cheeks: Asparagus, Potato Confit, Meyer Lemon
-Soft Shell Crab: Red Cabbage, Our Bacon, Pickles
-Green Egg and Ham: Farm Egg, Country Ham, Cornbread, Arugula
-Beef Short Ribs - Carolina Style: Glazed Turnips, Anson's Grits, Spring Onions, Farro and Swiss Chard, "Collard Greens"
-Strawberries: Ice cream, Roasted with Vanilla, Almond Crumble, Balsamic
Yum Yum
