So it was it! We got ourselves a little baby girl. So sweet... and all this time we had everyone convinced that it was going to be a boy. Maya Kirstine Alstrup-Lopez was born Tuesday morning October 2nd, 2007 at 6.27am. She measures 20 inches(50.8 cm ) and weights 8 pounds and 16 ounches (4.026 kg). Labor was quick and intense (started around midnight). We spent most of the laboring time at home - confused by the very iratic contractions... By the time we got to the hospital, we only had about 1.5 hours left before our little girl was born. All of us felt drained, of course, and stayed at the hospital for a little more than 24 hours, then back home to rest some more. Recovery seems to go fast both for baby and for mum, which is probably down to this amazing natural high.
